Scans Completed

Many thanks for all your prayers and good wishes today. I managed to get through the scans and we should have results in a few days. It would be great to get some good news after a very difficult week of chemotherapy and it's side effects. These are the first scans since before my surgery so will be a base line moving forward. An abatement of side affects would be so welcome right now. Chemotherapy attacks rapidly growing cells in your body because cancer cells are very rapidly growing, unfortunately our skin cells, our mucous cells (which line our GI tract), our hair follicles etc are also rapidly growing and so those take a huge hit during chemotherapy too. My poor GI tract has been hit pretty hard😩

I keep trying to remind myself to just stay focused on the next hurdle in front of me, not the many hurdles beyond. It is difficult to not be overwhelmed by what lays ahead.
