Not About the Food

Although I spend a lot of time talking about our food, mostly because it is a very tangible subject, the truth is, all this anti- cancer stuff goes so much further than what I am eating. We have 5 organs in the body that eliminate toxins for us. The lungs, the liver, the kidneys, the bowels and the biggest of all, our skin. The focus of all my food is to help the body get rid of toxins. Cancer is a toxin, in that left to reproduce, it can kill us.

Many of the foods in the Standard American Diet (SAD) tend to "clog" the intestinal tract making it really difficult for the immune system to do its job of fighting disease. I was just reading this morning about experiments with mice where they found a particular mouse whose immune system was able to destroy all the cancer they threw at him. The objective of my diet just now is to allow my immune system freedom to do its best job at ridding my body of cancer and other toxic stuff.

However, food is not the only thing that creates toxins in the body...not by a long shot. How I feel, what I'm thinking, old emotional wounds, my level of physical activity or lack there of, stuff I breathe, things that I put on my skin etc, etc etc, are all players in this dance of anti-cancer.

What I find more difficult to discuss is all the ways I have been and am currently working on cleansing my system of other toxins. Did you know that tears of grief are filled with toxins? I've gotten rid of a lot of those lately. Feeling painful feelings is hard work and working on the epigenetics of cancer, or turning off the genes that are cancer markers, is also hard work and takes courage. My prayer is that I am able to step into ALL the healing that is meant for me at this time. I believe every disease is the body's way of telling us we have some unmet need. Here's to health on every level and in every way!!đź’ž
